PARCEL NEWS
- Changes have been made to the "Aerial Imagery" portion of the layer list. It now includes:
- 2006 6in
- 2006 1ft
- 2002 1ft Color
- 2002 2ft B&W
The 2006 6in (each pixel is 6 inches x 6 inches) images were taken for every village, city, and along a couple of important corridors such as a portion of routes 219 and 16. The 2006 1ft (each pixel is 1 foot x 1 foot) images were taken for the entire county and they are all color. The other two you should be familiar with, their name just changed.
A couple of errors occurred while the images were processed. Now and then you will see some black areas and perhaps a Pictometry watermark on the image. These are known problems with the Pictometry software and I've been told that they are working on correcting it. Once it gets fixed the images will be recreated. The images are not perfect. At times you will notice that they do not line up seemlessly. The allowed error from one image to another is under 5ft and is usually much better than this.
Please keep in mind that these images are large in size and many in quantity. If you're zoomed out far, then it will take awhile for the image to download over the web. They can be as large as 500kb. Add that to the processing time of the software and even on DSL it could take a good 15-20 seconds to show up.
- The Parcel Boundary Lines have been updated as of August 2006.
Do you need help?
Please address any issue to the GIS Coordinator
*The parcel information (not maps/boundary lines) is supplied to Cattaraugus County by each municipalities Assessor. Cattaraugus County does not maintain or change this data. Any issues should be brought to the attention of that municipalities Assessor. Otto, East Otto, and Ashford are updated three times per year (May, July, & December). All other municipalities are updated on a weekly basis.
