HEAP Cooling Program 2015
Help is available for Cattaraugus County residents with special medical needs during the hot months ahead from the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services.
The Heap Cooling Component provides for the purchase and installation of air conditioners and fans to low income households that include a member with a medical condition that is intensified by the warm weather. This program will begin on May 1st, 2015, and run through August 31st, or until the funds are exhausted, whichever occurs first. Applications will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.
Applicants must meet the HEAP income guidelines for the 2014-15 program year, and reside in a HEAP eligible living situation in Cattaraugus County. An application must be completed and applicants must have an interview. Interviews may be done in person at the Olean office of the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services or by phone. Applications may be received in person, by mail, by fax, or through an authorized representative. On-line applications are not accepted for this program.
