Cattaraugus County Nutrition Sites to Host Thanksgiving Holiday Dinner
Are you over 60 and love turkey, stuffing, and all the traditional fixings but don't want to spend the time or money to cook an enormous meal? If so, the Cattaraugus County Senior Nutrition Program has just the answer. Come join us for a traditional Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, November 20, at one of the nutrition sites located within the county. Director Cathy Mackay states, "This is the time of year where people crave connection, and what better way to connect with one another than around a table, sharing a delicious, comforting meal."
The Thanksgiving meal will consist of roast turkey breast and gravy, seasoned bread stuffing, mashed potatoes, hubbard squash, cranberry sauce, freshly baked muffins with margarine, and pumpkin pie with whipped topping.
There are eleven (11) nutrition sites located throughout the county: Allegany, Cattaraugus, Delevan, Franklinville, Gowanda, Little Valley, Olean, Portville, Randolph, South Dayton, and West Valley. Note: The Little Valley location will hold their dinner on Friday, November 21. For the telephone number of the nutrition site located nearest you, please contact the Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging at 716-373-8032 or 800-462-2901.
If you would like to join us for this Thanksgiving feast, please call and make a reservation with the nutrition site of your choice at least 24 hours in advance. There is a suggested voluntary donation of $3.50 per meal; however, no one will be denied a meal due to inability or unwillingness to contribute.
The Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging has a variety of programs and services available to county seniors age 60 and older. For information on programs and guidelines, please call us at 716-373-8032 or 800-462-2901.
