Do you plan on driving on Route 98 on Monday? Mike Brisky, Supervisor for the Town of Franklinville, received the following announcement from the NYSDOT:

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) today announced that a portion of NY Route 98, between NY Route 16 and Cadiz Road, in the town of Franklinville, Cattaraugus County, is scheduled to be closed to all traffic beginning on Monday, September 8, for a railroad crossing repair.  Motorists will be directed to follow a posted detour route using NY Route 16, NY Route 242, and US Route 219.   This work is expected to last for approximately four days.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.  In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual's driver's license.
