Enhanced Driver Licenses (EDL) available
Enhanced Drivers Licenses available 09/16/2008
All three Motor Vehicle Offices in Cattaraugus County will be offering the new Enhanced Driver Licenses beginning Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 8:00am. The staff in the Olean, Little Valley and Delevan Offices have received training in the processing of these licenses which will allow border crossing between the United States, Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean without the need for a US Passport.
Cattaraugus County Clerk James K. Griffith advises that potential EDL customers should be aware that obtaining an EDL does involve additional time to process and does require additional documentation. Motorists should be aware that the EDL application process requires proving United States citizenship, as well as New York residency and there are several forms of identification that may be presented. These documents may be scanned for security purposes.
The fee to obtain an EDL will be $30.00, as opposed to the $100.00 for a Passport. Please refer to the links below for further information on EDL requirements.
